Public Comment

Public comment periods have been part of CCHIT’s process since its inception. They are open to everyone. As the Work Groups reach significant milestones, their development products are made available on the CCHIT Web site for review and formal comment collection. All comments are considered by the Work Groups, changes are made as necessary and forwarded to the Commission for consideration, and a response to grouped comments is later published on the Web site. Jurors

CCHIT Jurors conduct the rigorous, structured testing process by which vendor products become CCHIT CertifiedSM. They are qualified experts who undergo further orientation and a trial observation before they serve in this role. Review the list of CCHIT Jurors.

 

Work Groups

CCHIT volunteer Work Groups do the heavy lifting of developing criteria and inspection processes for each domain. That includes assessing the market environment and available standards, drafting and finalizing certification requirements, publishing a future roadmap of certification requirements, and developing test scripts and a recommended certification process.

Commissioners

CCHIT Commissioners provide the strategic guidance for the organization and the final review and approval of its development work. The Commission is also charged with developing a self-sustaining business model for CCHIT’s certification program. Review the list of Commissioners.

 

Expanding the scope of certification

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has authorized and funded the Commission to expand its certification scope of work for ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) products to begin addressing medical specialties and specialized care settings.
